Statement of Faith

The following declarations are a minimum statement of doctrines to which all who participate with In Grace should agree.

We believe in God the Father and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Mary, He suffered, was crucified on a cross, died, was buried, and on the third day He bodily rose from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. He will return to earth to judge the living and the dead. (Psalm 33:9; Matt. 1:23; Acts 4:33; I Peter 4:5; I Co. 5:12-19; Luke 24:41-43; Phil. 2:9; Eph. 4:8-10; Acts 1 :9; Matt. 22:41-45)

We believe that there is one God who has always been and will always be; that He is eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that our all-powerful, all knowing God, by His Word, created all things in heaven above and on earth below. (Gen. 1-3, Deut. 6:4; Jer. 10:10; I Cor. 8:4; Gen. 1:1-2,26,3:22; Is. 9:6; Matt. 28:19; Matt. 3:16-17)

We believe that all mankind is spiritually fallen (Christ, alone, excepted), that they are sinners by nature, possessing a sinful heart and that sin has infected the entire human condition (thoughts, motives, words and deeds), rendering all mankind guilty and helpless before a holy God. Thus, all men, apart from Christ, are incapable of any spiritual good that would earn them favor in the eyes of God, and they are transgressors of God's holy law and reside under divine wrath and the penalty of death (both spiritual and physical). (Rom. 3:23; Psalm 51:5; Matt. 15:19; Rom 3:9-18; Job 9:1-15; Eph. 2:1-3; Rom 5:12-14)

We believe in the full deity and true humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ-that He is fully God, yet fully man. Only through Jesus Christ can man find redemption from sin and have eternal life in heaven. Without Jesus Christ, man is damned and will spend eternity in suffering and torment apart from God in Hell. Salvation is freely given, but can only be obtained through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and not through our own works or efforts. Jesus gave His life, once for all, as a perfect, sinless and holy sacrifice in payment for our sin. We believe that through our faith in the substitutionary death of our Lord Jesus, we are born again, redeemed, reconciled and justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (Rom 1:3-4; Micah 5:2; Titus 2:13; Col. 1:15-20; I Tim. 2:5; Rev. 14:11,20:15; Mark 9:48,; Luke 16:19-31; Gal. 4:4-5; John 5:24; John 11:25; Rom. 5:6-11; Heb. 9:12-22, Titus 3:5-6; Eph. 2:4-5, 8-9; Rom. 3:22-24; Gal. 3:10-12)

We believe in the Holy Spirit, whose ministry is to convict, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. (Titus 3:5; Eph. 1:13; Rom. 5:5; Rom. 8:9; II Thess. 2:13)

We believe in one holy Christian church, the unity of all true saints, the resurrection of the physical body, and the gift of eternal life. (Rom 12:4-8; Eph. 4:1-5; I Cor. 15:42-44; Matt. 25:46)

We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the holy, verbally inspired Word of God. We believe that it is free from error in all that it affirms, whether in historical scientific, moral or doctrinal matters. In it we can find all instructions for righteousness, holiness and faith It is our final authority, the handbook for daily Christian living and the only book necessary for our faith. We believe that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching" rebuking" correcting" and training in righteousness" so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. " II Timothy 3:16. (I Thess.2:13; Psalm 19:7-8; II Peter 1:20-21, John 10:35; I Cor. 2:13_ Luke 16:17)
